Lucas Digne sends message as late winter AC Milan agreement emerges
Lucas Digne appears to be a big fan of news to have emerged from AC Milan on deadline day.
Aston Villa’s winter transfer window was slow yet steady, but very few people anticipated anything else given the PSR situation.
Tammy Abaraham and Alysson both made permanent moves to Villa Park, with Douglas Luiz joining on loan until the end of the campaign.
Several loan exits were also confirmed by the Villans, but it was a late agreement at AC Milan that caught the attention of French international, Digne.

AC Milan finalise agreement for France international
AC Milan had actually been courted with an interest in signing Digne back in October, though given his importance at Aston Villa, that was never likely to be sanctioned, even with the need for money coming in.
The 32-year-old defender has made 22 appearances for the Villans in the Premier League so far, showcasing how crucial he is to whatever success comes their way.
However, a France teammate of his that holds just as much importance at his respective club is Mike Maignan, who has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world for AC Milan this season.
And that importance was recognised late in the transfer window, with the Serie A giants announcing that he had put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him in Italy until 2031.
The news was shared via an Instagram announcement, with Digne replying three flame emojis to the post.

Could Digne still join Mike Maigan at AC Milan?
While it was clear that there was no deal to be had for the current campaign, Milan remain keen on signing Digne in the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman has rotated with Ian Maatsen throughout the campaign under Unai Emery.
Digne’s contract expires in 2028 after he signed a new deal with the Villans back in August 2025, potentially extending his stay at Villa Park to six years.
However, depending on the finances involved in a potential deal, Aston Villa may not be as strict in their stance on letting him leave in the summer if that interest remains.
But like always, that is likely to be dependent on how easily they can sign a replacement for a player who has played such an influential role.
