Unai Emery finally makes crucial match-winning decision in Aston Villa team vs Bournemouth

Unai Emery has shaken up his attack as Aston Villa take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Aston Villa have already been backed to beat Bournemouth on 9 November, when they host Andoni Iroala’s side at Villa Park.

Last time out in the Premier League, Villa lost 2-0 to Liverpool, as Emery will no doubt be hoping his side can bounce back before the international break.

Unai Emery has dropped Evann Guessand

Emery has decided to drop Evann Guessand as Emi Buendia returns to the side, to most likely take the right-wing spot, as Villa shared their team news on X.

Guessand has been so poor for Villa since he joined, but Emery has persisted in starting the Ivorian, which proved detrimental against Liverpool last time in the league.

The attacker started in Aston Villa’s 2-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League on Thursday, but failed to make an impact once more, as Emery has finally come to his senses.

Emery’s decision may prove vital, and Villa fans could be about to see the most free-flowing attacking performance their side has put on so far this season.

Emery hasn’t lost to Bournemouth as Aston Villa boss

Heading into the clash, Aston Villa have a major omen on their side, as Emery is yet to lose in the Premier League to Bournemouth while at B6.

Last time out at Villa Park, on 26 October 2024, Villa suffered heartbreak as Evanilson scored in the 96th minute to snatch a point for the visitors, cancelling out Ross Barkley’s opening goal.

Nevertheless, Villa still earned a point from the game, but Emery will be looking for all three against a side who are in very good nick.

A win could put the Villans as high as the top seven in the Premier League despite their shocking start, dependent, of course, on results around them.
