Amadou Onana could face imminent Aston Villa exit as Juventus open to January transfer
Aston Villa could be set to part ways with Amadou Onana in the coming months.
The Belgium international hasn’t featured for over a month at Villa Park, having last featured when Villa lost to Brentford in the Premier League.
Onana was absent as Villa drew to Sunderland, as Unai Emery’s side were once again left light in the midfield area.
This inconsistency in fitness from Onana has given a chance for Lamare Bogarde to play centrally for Villa, but the Villans’ form has been far from improved.
With that being said, it could now be the end of the road for the 24-year-old after the latest transfer news emerging out of Juventus.

Manuel Locatelli could replace Amadou Onana
Onana signed for Villa from Everton for big money, but has truly failed to live up to the expectations set after his opening three performances.
The Belgian became an instant favourite in B6 with his celebrations at the Holte End after victories, becoming a regular occurrence on matchdays.
It is his battles with fitness that have caused problems and have hampered his progress, and ultimately left Villa supporters frustrated.
As a result, it would be of little surprise if the Villans opted to bring in a replacement in January, with Locatelli being lined up as a potential option.
Juventus are open to accepting an offer for the Italy international, with Ville one of multiple Premier League teams interested in Locatelli‘s signature.
If the defensive midfielder were to come in from the Serie A giants, it could represent bad news for Onana’s future in claret and blue.

Aston Villa could cut losses on Amadou Onana
With Monchi now having left Villa Park, fans are looking back through his transfer catalogue and assessing the success of his business.
Onana is up there with his biggest deals and arguably has the most mixed reviews due to that sizable price tag.
There is no doubt that the Belgian has excellent quality, but probably doesn’t get into the strongest starting 11 under Emery if everyone is fit.
Aston Villa central midfield options:
- Youri Tielemans
- Boubacar Kamara
- John McGinn
- Amadou Onana
- Ross Barkley
- Lamare Bogarde
As a result, a signing in the region of £50million has to be seen as a failure, but that isn’t to say he can’t turn it around.
Now, it will be interesting to see how Villa assess a potential sale in January, especially if Locatelli is to come in from Juventus.
