Monchi may already have new job ready as headline Aston Villa exit lined up

Monchi may be set to step into his next role away from Aston Villa immediately.

The Spaniard looks set to depart Villa Park in the coming days, with Stan Collymore already assessing replacements for Villa.

This comes just weeks after the transfer window came to an end, with Harvey Elliott signing on loan from Liverpool alongside Jadon Sancho and Victor Lindelof.

It appears that this business has reflected badly on the transfer chief, something which could see Unai Emery follow Monchi out in the near future.

With that being said, it looks as if Monchi could already be prepared to take up a new job as Emery awaits confirmation of his counterpart’s exit.

Monchi could make permanent move to San Fernando Club Deportivo

Ian Darke believed that Monchi’s race was run at Villa, and it appears that the B6 hierarchy believes that to be the case.

This has seen reports emerge that the 57-year-old is set to leave the Midlands after just two years, having joined from Sevilla in June 2023.

It is fair to say that this has been met by a mixed reception by Villa fans, with some fearful of what this could mean for the future of Emery.

Despite this, any concern that the duo could soon work together elsewhere may be subsided if Monchi is to work permanently for his boyhood club, San Fernando Club Deportivo.

Back in July, the Spaniard became the leader of a project created to save the club in a period of huge financial difficulty.

Monchi exit could be positive for Aston Villa

There is a mixed bag of transfer business surrounding the ex-Roma chief after multiple windows at Villa Park.

Although the failings around PSR and SCR won’t necessarily reflect badly on him completely, it does feel as if certain moves represent an issue.

The moves for Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford have put Villa in trouble, and they nearly worked, but ultimately didn’t get over the line.

It could prove to be the perfect opportunity now for a fresh start with a new face at the helm as the B6 club tries to get out of the mire they are currently in.
