Aston Villa fans in total agreement after devastating Marcus Rashford display vs Newcastle United

Marcus Rashford bagged a brace for Barcelona against Newcastle United and left Aston Villa fans stunned.

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan in the summer, just weeks after his temporary spell came to an end at Villa Park.

Since moving to Camp Nou, Rashford came under fire on his Barcelona debut, with Villa fans keeping a keen eye on his progress in LaLiga.

This comes after Rashford was a positive signing for Aston Villa, playing a key role as Unai Emery’s side reached the Champions League quarter-finals.

Although the B6 club are no longer in Europe’s elite competition, Rashford is and starred for the Catalans in a performance which received unanimous reviews from the Midlands.

Aston Villa fans want Marcus Rashford back

Villa supporters will always remember Rashford’s performance against PSG, the versatile forward was superb in the 3-2 home win, in particular.

There was always a feeling around the claret and blue outfit that the Englishman was at a different level and that it was a real coup to land him on loan.

It is fair to say that he has proved that theory right on so many levels, with his brace for Barca against Newcastle United being key evidence of this fact.

This has seen many Villa fans speak out to share their love for Rashford, with many wishing that he could return to Villa Park after his showing at St James’ Park.

One supporter said on X: “What a player Marcus Rashford is. God, I wish he stayed at Villa”, while another asked: “Can we have Rashford back?”

It is safe to say that this is the general feeling around the B6 fanbase, with many left questioning how the claret and blue outfit ever had Rashford in the first place.

This saw one supporter say: “Every day I’m more and more depressed that we didn’t sign Rashford man,” added to by another who suggested that Villa helped him become the player he is now: “Rashford was made in B6!”

With that being said, the general feeling around Villa right now is one that his absence is truly being felt at Villa right now.

One believes he has been a massive loss, saying:” We lost Rashford, and what a loss it’s been. What a player.

Another said: “That’s why Emery always chose Rashford. A player that can produce moments. Something our current attackers struggle to do.”

It is fair to say that the Englishman’s output wasn’t as excellent as it could have been at Villa, but there was no doubting his quality.

Alongside Marco Asensio, the Villans were handed a much-needed winter boost and may not see a player with Rashford’s attributes feature in claret and blue for a long time.

It was clear against Newcastle that the versatile forward is world-class on his day, something which a spell at Barcelona could unlock across the rest of the season.
