Premier League to make new Aston Villa announcement

Aston Villa are still well in the hunt for a top-five finish in the Premier League, and each remaining game is crucial.

Villa are currently seventh in the table, but are just three points behind Chelsea in fifth with three games remaining this season.

A top-five finish would see Villa qualify for the Champions League, but they will likely need a perfect end to the season to pip Chelsea and Nottingham Forest to that spot.

They face a tough end to the season, and an announcement will now be made over one of their final three games of the campaign.

Aston Villa v Tottenham to be moved by Premier League

Aston Villa’s penultimate Premier League game this season will see them face Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park.

Spurs are badly out of form in the league, but are on the verge of reaching the Europa League final.

Villa’s clash with Tottenham was scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 18, but this will now be moved ahead of the potential final.

He shares that an announcement is expected by the Premier League on Tuesday.

Aston Villa may have advantage in final Premier League games

Fans may be annoyed at the timing of the Spurs game being moved, given that tickets have already been on sale and plans will now have to be changed at short notice.

Despite this frustration off the pitch, Villa may have an advantage over their Premier League counterparts in the hunt for the top five.

Villa will play both Tottenham and Manchester United in their final two games, and they both may face each other in the Europa League final.

With the final set to take place between each Villa match, both teams are likely to play weakened sides as their full focus is on Europe.

This could hand Unai Emery the perfect opportunity to beat both teams, which could play a huge part in their pursuit of a Champions League spot, and Villa will hope that both Spurs and United reach the final in Bilbao.
