Aston Villa agree new terms with midfielder as Villa Park announcement made

Aston Villa have a host of talented midfielders on their books as Unai Emery has managed to bring the best out of his squad at Villa Park.

Morgan Rogers showed his importance at the Villans when he scored against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Champions League on Wednesday (9 April).

Emery’s reliance on McGinn has also paid off as the Scotland international covered a lot of ground at Parc des Prince as the Lions eventually lost 3-1 in the first leg of the quarter-final.

While the Spanish manager will be disappointed with the result, he’ll be pleased with how well some of his midfielders performed against one of the best teams in the world, and Villa Park could potentially have a new star on their hands who’s been offered a contract.

Max Jenner signs professional contract at Villa

Max Jenner has signed his first professional contract at Villa Park, the club announced on their website.

The 17-year-old England youth international has mostly played for the Villans’ Under-18 team, reaching the FA Youth Cup final with them.

Jenner has also featured in the UEFA Youth League and for the Under-21’s in the Vertu Trophy.

The youngster has shown remarkable progress this season and may be the next superstar in the making at the Birmingham outfit.

Emery to give Jenner opportunities after what’s happened at Villa Park

Emery has done an impressive job at Villa Park since replacing Steven Gerrard in 2022, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the likes of Real Madrid wanting him one day.

The Spanish manager has taken the Lions to unimaginable heights in a short period of time and hasn’t been shy about giving youngsters an opportunity.

Rogers has transformed into an influential player for the Birmingham outfit, having joined them last year.

Rogers’ record at Villa this season.

Jacob Ramsey has struggled with injuries at Villa this season, but he’s an example of an academy product making it to the first-team and stamping their authority.

Emery has been willing to give players their chances regardless of age if they deliver on the pitch.

It remains to be seen whether Jenner will be able to fulfil his potential at Villa Park, but there’s arguably no better manager than the former Arsenal head coach to bring the best out of him.

While the 17-year-old will undoubtedly have a challenging task up ahead to get ahead of the likes of Rogers and Ramsey in the pecking order, there’s no reason why that can’t be done.
