Loïc Badé to ‘settle in quickly’ at Aston Villa as swap deal proposed to Sevilla
Aston Villa are interested in signing Sevilla centre-back Loïc Badé.
As reported by VamosMiSevilla (14 January), Monchi is trying to negotiate a deal with the La Liga outfit, who are demanding a fee of between £21-25million for Badé. Therefore, Diego Carlos’ name has been mentioned as a player who could be included in a deal to reduce the fee.
It would see Carlos – who has been widely linked with a move away from Villa in the winter transfer window [via Fabrizio Romano, 15 January] – return to his former club.
And ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes Badé wouldn’t have any problems adapting to his new surroundings in the West Midlands if a deal were to be agreed.
“If this is the player they want, both Unai Emery and Monchi will know the player,” King said.
“Therefore, I’m sure that they would be happy to bring him to the club. Badé has been playing in Spain, so he will know the language. As a result, that would allow him to settle in quickly under Emery.”
Aston Villa to sign Sevilla defender Loïc Badé?
Signing a player who could hit the ground running would be a big boost – especially in January.
Emery will want any player who arrives at Villa Park this month to make an impact during the second half of the season. Therefore, if Badé does complete a move to the West Midlands outfit, and can instantly connect with Emery, that could prove useful.
It appears as though Villa are shopping in Spain, with Celta Vigo’s Óscar Mingueza also a target for the club [via Fabrizio Romano, 13 January].

As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a deal for Badé agreed.
