The 21-year-old has taken to life in the Premier League like a duck to water, even if his side are yet to pick up their first win back in the top flight.

Delap has already scored five goals in his opening ten appearances, netting two against Villa in the draw at Portman Road (29 September).

This may have opened Emery’s eyes to the forward as he looks to provide competition for Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran as a third striker option in the squad.

It has been suggested that Ipswich could demand over £30million for the Englishman which would represent a significant outlay compared to his potential importance in the squad.

Whether or not he could cost more than Monchi and Co. would want to pay, there is no doubt that he could prove to be an excellent signing for the future.

With Watkins now 28, the Villans could eye Delap as the future of the club alongside Duran moving forward.
