Aston Villa want to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap in upcoming transfer windows, according to Caught Offside.

The Villans, along with Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle United, have the 21-year-old on their radar, but Tottenham are said to be leading the race.

However, it is suggested that Ipswich could demand over £30million for the England youth international.

Aston Villa to seal Liam Delap transfer?

Currently, Villa have two quality number nines in Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran.

The England international has been in blistering form since Unai Emery was appointed manager at Villa Park and has cemented his place as the main man.

After 40 goal involvements in 53 appearances for the club last season, the 28-year-old has continued to be essential to success in the Premier League, scoring five goals in eight appearances.

However, while Watkins has deserved to be in the team, Duran isn't far behind, with the Colombian's form absolutely warranting more minutes.

The former Chicago Fire star has come off the bench to score some crucial goals for the Lions in recent weeks but is likely disappointed at his lack of starts.

Therefore, the Villa Park faithful can count their blessings for having two of the best strikers in the Premier League at their disposal.

Delap has already shown Emery what he can do this season, scoring twice in the 2-2 draw at Portman Road on 29 September, which is maybe where he caught the eye.
