Aston Villa backed to sign Bryan Mbeumo in ‘big money’ transfer as speculation emerges

Bryan King has backed Aston Villa to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

The ex-Villa scout believes it would take “big money” to convince Brentford to sell the 25-year-old.

As reported by HITC (7 September), Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City are all keen on Mbeumo, who is in no rush to sign a brand-new deal with Brentford.

And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – feels that the Cameroon international could work well alongside Ollie Watkins.

“Mbeumo has certainly made a good start in the Premier League this season,” King said.

“He has always been in the shadow of Ivan Toney at Brentford. He is a player who could work really well with Watkins at Aston Villa.

“That could be an interesting transfer. Would Brentford want to let him go after losing Toney? If he keeps playing the way that he is, it is going to take big money to convince Brentford into selling them.

Aston Villa to sign Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo?

Mbeumo’s performances have flown under the radar at the Gtech Community Stadium.

He has three goals in three Premier League appearances this season, while he found the back of the net six times in England’s top flight last year, in addition to providing nine assists.

Mbeumo has plenty of experience in the Premier League and has only recently turned 25.

Therefore, it is no surprise to see that top English clubs are starting to take notice, and Unai Emery could benefit hugely from the arrival of Mbeumo at Villa Park as he looks to continue helping the club progress.

However, a deal could be difficult to agree, and supporters in the West Midlands will have to wait and see if Villa can win the race for Mbeumo’s signature.

In other Aston Villa news, King has hailed the club’s “clever thinking” after they narrowly avoided punishment.
