Fabrizio Romano drops Aston Villa transfer news on Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling Jr
The Aston Villa deal to sign Juventus duo Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling Jr is understood to be progressing, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The journalist reported on 21 June that Juventus will be letting those two players move to Villa Park and also sending £21million to £25.3million in order to sign Douglas Luiz.
The deal is understood to be moving to the final stages as Thiago Motta is insisting on signing the Brazilian midfielder.
Romano wrote on Twitter: “Juventus and Aston Villa are moving to final stages of swap deal for Douglas Luiz.
“Enzo Barrenechea, Samuel Iling Jr and fee between €25/30m to Aston Villa, Douglas Luiz to Juventus.
“Thiago Motta insists to sign Luiz; details to clarify, the deal is 100% on and close.”
Aston Villa may be getting the better of the transfer deal
Luiz is a highly talented midfielder who has been a key player for Villa and has attracted interest from top clubs like Juventus.
Losing him would be a significant blow for Villa, but the club seems to have negotiated a deal that includes two promising young players in Barrenechea and Iling Jr, as well as a substantial cash payment.
Barrenechea is a highly-rated young midfielder who has impressed during his loan spell at Frosinone, while Iling Jr is a talented winger who has shown great potential.
Both players could potentially develop into key players for Villa in the future.
In addition, the cash payment from Juventus will give the Villans additional funds to reinvest in the squad.
This could be used to strengthen other areas of the team or to bring in more young talent.
