Aston Villa: Jacob Ramsey injury verdict shared after what Unai Emery said

Aston Villa will be hoping to fix the injury problems surrounding Jacob Ramsey over the summer, according to Ty Bracey.

After the 22-year-old missed his third game in a row against West Ham on 17 March, Unai Emery revealed after the match (via BirminghamWorld) that he was unsure what was going on with the attacking midfielder’s injury.

The Villa academy product has been plagued with issues this season after a foot problem saw him miss a large chunk of the first half of the campaign.

Bracey hopes the Englishman will be able to get back out on the pitch before the end of the season in a bid to help Emery’s side challenge for a Champions League place.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It’s just another first-team player that we don’t want to see injured.

“Nothing surprises me anymore at Villa, especially when it comes to injuries.

“It’s just one of those things where if Emery doesn’t know or doesn’t want to say, then that’s understandable.

“But there’s not long left of the season. I’d like for us to get him back before the end of the season.

“Hopefully, we can fix whatever is wrong with him over the summer and get him back fit and ready for next year.”

Jacob Ramsey return would provide Aston Villa with boost

It’s been a largely forgetful season for Ramsey on the back of what was a very impressive few months under Emery last year.

The attacking midfielder just hasn’t been able to get a good run of games together due to his injury problems, having scored just one goal and laid on two assists in 21 appearances.

The Villa boss will be hoping the injury isn’t too bad and he can return to the fold soon to give his side a boost, but they won’t want to rush him back and risk any further problems.
