Doctor issues Boubacar Kamara update ahead of Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Aston Villa...

Aston Villa are unlikely to be fretting over the fitness of Boubacar Kamara ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur clash, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

According to Birmingham Live, the 24-year-old missed a training session for France during the international break, sparking injury woes.

However, that was understood to be a precaution as he played 23 minutes in the 14-0 win against Gibraltar on 18 November.

Speaking about his injury, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

Sounds very much precautionary after he picked up a slight issue with his foot leading into the international break.

It does not seem like anything that should keep him out.

Clubs tend to ask players to take it easy when they’re worried about them possibly picking up an injury.

Kamara has been among the unsung heroes for Aston Villa this season and Unai Emery will probably say he’s one of the best players.

The France international has quietly gone on about his business at the heart of the midfield and has efficiently run things from deep.

His absence against Sputs will be deeply felt, but that’s unlikely and he’s expected to be available for that game which will be played on 26 November.

In other Aston Villa news, a first-team player is dealing with a “tricky” rehabilitation programme as he’s unlikely to be fully fit currently.
