Fabrizio Romano shares update on Aston Villa pursuit of Sevilla defender Marcos Acuna
Aston Villa want to agree a deal with Sevilla for defender Marcos Acuna on Thursday (17 August), according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist tweeted on 17 August that the Villans are set to undergo a fresh round of talks with the La Liga club after personal terms have already been agreed with the 31-year-old.
Spanish news outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla reported on 14 August that Los Nervionenses could be tempting to sell the Argentina international if an offer worth about £13million comes in for him.

It looks as though Villa could be close to landing another signing as they hope to quickly secure a deal for Acuna ahead of the game at home to Everton on Sunday (20 August).
Romano said the left-back is keen on a move to the Premier League and that personal terms are already in place, so it should be completed swiftly once a fee is agreed with Sevilla.
It’s surprising they are willing to let the Argentine go, though, after he started for the club in their Super Cup defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night (16 August).
This comes after the Italian journalist tweeted on 16 August that Lucas Digne could be set to leave Villa Park as Saudi clubs and two European sides are eyeing a move for him.
Acuna, who won the World Cup with Argentina in 2022 and the Europa League with Sevilla last season, would add great experience after making more than 400 career appearances across his career.
In other Aston Villa news, one player was spotted undergoing his medical ahead of a move to the Villans.
