Three questions Aston Villa supporters still need answering before deadline day
Aston Villa are a little over a week away from a return to competitive action.
The Villans' memorable Europa League triumph means they face off against Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup on 12 August.
There will then be an 11-day wait before facing Brighton in their Premier League opener, but time is running out to strengthen the squad before then.
Villa have been hit with some high-profile departures, with Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers joining Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.
Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, and Alejandro Garnacho have been added to the squad, but Villa still want to complete more business.
Here, Villa News looks at three questions Villa supporters have before the close of the window on 1 September.
Will Emiliano Martinez leave Aston Villa this summer?
Villa News has previously covered reports that Emiliano Martinez could depart Aston Villa this summer.
The Argentina international is one of the great keepers in Villa's history, entrenched now by his Europa League triumph.
But the 33-year-old - a World Cup and two-time Copa America winner - has been tipped with a move to Juventus this summer.
Given the older he gets the less chance there is for Villa to get a fee for Martinez, could now be the time that the Villans opt to take the cash?
Will Aston Villa sign another forward?
If Villa look light anywhere on the pitch, it is in the final third.
Losing Mogers was a huge blow, and Jadon Sanco is obviously not in the squad anymore.
Garnacho has arrived, and the likes of Emi Buendia, Evann Guessand, and Alysson are on the books.
But you cannot help but feel that Unai Emery would dearly love some more reinforcement in the final third of the pitch, especially with Champions League requirements to contend with.
Can Aston Villa fight off Ezri Konsa interest?
Losing Tielemans and Morgan after getting back in the Champions League is obviously a big blow for Villa.
But, there have been rumours of further departures, and England defender Ezri Konsa is a player linked with the exit door.
Arsenal have been predominantly linked with a move, while Liverpool are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old.
It would be a bitter pill to swallow to lose another player who is so important to Emery's squad this summer.
