Three things still on Unai Emery's wish list at Aston Villa this transfer window

Aston Villa have taken a few body blows in the summer transfer window.

Last season, Villa finished fourth in the Premier League and were crowned Europa League champions.

But the past couple of weeks have sene Youri Tielemans sold to Manchester United and Morgan Rogers on the brink of joining Chelsea.

Unai Emery has proven adept and adapting to such blows in the past, and is a master at identifying the next shrewd transfer.

But the canny Spaniard will have to use all his powers again to makesure Villa are in a position of strength ready for another crack at the Champions League.

Here, Villa News looks at three things that could still be potentially on Emery's wish list in the summer transfer window.

Unai Emery needs new forwards at Aston Villa

There can be no disguising that losing Rogers to Chelsea is a severe body blow.

Villa News has previously looked at options to replace Rogers at Villa, and it's something that needs addressing with urgency.

Jadon Sancho was obviously not as important as Rogers, but the end of his loan spell means the Villans are starting to look really thin on the ground further up the pitch.

Evann Guessand is back after Crystal Palace opted not to exercise a purchase option, but he did not entirely convince in a Villa shirt.

Leon Bailey looks destined to depart, with Hull City looking like a potential destination for the Jamaica winger, so reinforcement is needed.

West Ham ace Crysencio Summerville has been linked, though Roma are pushing hard for his signature.

AC Milan's Portugal winger Rafael Leao could be an option as he wants to depart San Siro this summer, while there have been tentative suggestions of a move for Alejandro Garnacho.

Villa need to make a decision on Emi Martinez

Emery will be reluctant to lose more first-team stars from his squad.

But a decision need to be taken once and for all on the future of 33-year-old number Emi Martinez, who was a losing finalist with Argentina in the World Cup final.

Martinez wanted to depart a year ago for Manchester United, and has been a target for Juventus during this transfer window.

As such, the likes of Zion Suzuki, Guillaume Restes, and Robin Risser have been linked with a move to Villa.

What Villa don't want to do is get too close to the start of the season, lose Martinez, and find themselves scrambling last minute for a replacement.

Get Lucas Digne's replacement sorted

Of all the players who have left or are expected to leave, losing Lucas Digne is not the end of the world.

But the France international, who looks certain to leave for PSG to act as back-up for Nuno Mendes, still played a lot of football last term.

Ian Maatsen is expected to become Villa's regular left-back, but they look a little short there without Digne.

As such, AC Milan's former Brighton left-back Pervis Estupinan is expected to join this summer.

It is a deal that Villa could do with getting over the line to ensure they don't leave themselves with too big of an issue to solve.
