Aston Villa are close to agreeing a deal with Sevilla to sign Loic Bade, according to Tom Collomosse.

The Daily Mail journalist reported on 23 January that the Villans only have final details to sort with the La Liga outfit with a deal now "very close".

Once Sevilla gives the green light, a transfer is only a matter of agreeing personal terms with the 24-year-old away from completion this winter.

After letting Diego Carlos go to Fenerbache, there is a great need for a new centre-back option in Unai Emery's squad before the 3 February deadline.

It appears that Monchi and Co. have found their main target and look set to strike to bring the France Under-23 international to Villa Park.

The former Nottingham Forest loanee could be set to come in to pose immediate competition for Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings at the back.

If the deal is completed before the winter window ends, it will be interesting to see where Pau Torres' future lies once he returns from his injury layoff.
