Aston Villa: Karim Adeyemi and 23-goal star ready to revamp Unai Emery’s forward line
Aston Villa are reportedly aware of Karim Adeyemi being open to leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, and are also monitoring one of Belgian football’s top attacking talents.
Unai Emery won’t be resting on the laurels of 2025-26 when it comes to how Aston Villa operate in the transfer market this summer.
Indeed, last season was another big step in the right direction towards prolonged Villa success in both the Premier League, and in Europe, but for a coach like Emery, improvement is always possible.
With the likelihood growing that Morgan Rogers will leave Villa Park this summer, whilst other forwards such as Leon Bailey likely to depart as well as Jadon Sancho returning to Man United, Villa’s attacking ranks may need replenishing.
And if Aston Villa want to evolve into serious Premier League title contenders next season too, then sharpening their cutting edge up top was always going to be a priority in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa alerted to Karim Adeyemi availability
As aforementioned, it’s looking as though Rogers will be leaving Aston Villa this summer, and if so, he will be a very tough player to replace.
Not only is he obviously a quality player, but his versatile nature that enables him to play pretty much anywhere across the forward line makes him that bit harder to move on from as well.
| Karim Adeyemi’s 25-26 Bundesliga stats | Result |
| Goals per 90 | 0.53 |
| Assists per 90 | 0.30 |
| Successful dribbles | 27 |
| Touches in opposition box | 86 |
| Average match rating | 7.0 |
One talent who could go a long way to replacing that versatile element of Rogers’ game, as well as offering some similar traits in terms of dribbling and link-up play, is Borussia Dortmund’s Adeyemi.
Villa have been linked with Adeyemi for some time, with the 24-year-old having been at Dortmund since the summer of 2022, scoring 36 goals in 146 games for them during that time.
2025-26 saw him net 10 times and provide eight assists from 44 appearances in all competitions, but with his contract set to expire next summer, Dortmund may now be ready to cash in on the German international.

And, according to a report from The Athletic, Adeyemi isn’t against leaving Dortmund this summer, and that a move to the Premier League is his reported preference.
Because of this, Aston Villa are claimed to be aware of Adeyemi’s situation and do hold a long-term interest in the forward, but it’s said that as of now, it’s not clear as to whether they will make a move for him this summer.
Aston Villa interested in 23-goal Club Brugge star
Adeyemi would certainly be an exciting addition to Aston Villa’s attack, and if he is to make the move to Villa Park, he could also be joined by a highly-rated striker as well.
That’s because in the same report from The Athletic, it’s claimed that 21-year-old Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi has his admirers in Germany, Spain and England, with Villa being one of the clubs keen on him.
A German youth international, Tresoldi only joined Brugge last summer, but enjoyed a debut 2025-26 campaign to remember with the Belgian outfit, netting 23 times and providing seven assists in 58 total appearances.
German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann also revealed that Tresoldi came very close to making their World Cup squad for this summer’s tournament.
The young striker is extremely fast, and would offer a real burner up top which is something Emery doesn’t currently have in his side.
Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are also said to have long-held interest in Tresoldi though, and so his signature could be a tough one for Villa to obtain this summer.
