Aston Villa have done the right thing after Arsenal lost the Champions League final on penalties.

The Villans have struck up quite the rivalry recently with Mikel Arteta’s side after looking set to go head-to-head for the Premier League title at one point.

Things didn’t transpire that way, as their quality ultimately shone through, and they stuck it out to win the league with relative ease.

The North London outfit lifted the trophy at Selhurst Park on the final day, but had more silverware in their sights.

Where Aston Villa won their own European final, Arsenal couldn’t do the same, but it is only a good thing that the B6 outfit stayed quiet.

With the Gunners already having won the Premier League, there was a general vibe throughout English football that no one wanted them to lift the Champions League.

They looked set to laugh in everyone’s faces when Kai Havertz scored after six minutes, but PSG went on to dominate from there.

Chances were at a premium before Ousmane Dembele converted from the spot to ultimately take the final to penalties for the first time since 2016.

The Parisians went on to win after a Gabriel miss from 12 yards, sparking a social media tirade against the red half of North London.

Chelsea were quick to chip in as they shared a post on X promoting their tours of Stamford Bridge in a massively tongue-in-cheek way.

The post has clocked up over 425,000 likes and 25 million views, but the same trend wasn’t followed in B6.

Villa beat Freiburg for their own European silverware, so they have taken the opportunity to remain classy despite all the noise.

Gabriel missed the decisive spot kick, and after his recent antics against the Villans, they wouldn’t be blamed for poking fun at the Brazilian.

He mocked Amadou Onana’s three points in the pocket celebration after beating Villa in December, and that clip has certainly been shared many times by the B6 faithful since his miss.

The claret and blue outfit haven’t joined in with that and have instead made one single post to confirm their Super Cup opponents for August.
