Aston Villa to be left with £40m spare after Morgan Rogers and Harvey Barnes deals are completed
Aston Villa are interested in signing Newcastle United star Harvey Barnes, with Morgan Rogers‘ exit looking inevitable.
The Villans are in for a summer of change with multiple transfer plans in place.
One of Unai Emery‘s ideas looks to be the signing of Barnes, who Newcastle value at around £38million, according to the Daily Mail.
The left-winger may be seen as a direct replacement for Rogers, who can play both attacking midfield and on the left-hand side.
Villa would be doing smart business by signing Barnes, and it could leave them with an extra £40m left of transfer wiggle room if they sell Rogers, too.

Aston Villa have no excuses not to reinvest Morgan Rogers money
Villa have slapped an £80m valuation on Rogers’ head, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea all monitoring the Englishman.
However, their move for Barnes may only be facilitated once Rogers is sold, as £42m could be left for NSWE to play with once potential deals are completed.
| Area of game | Stats |
| Games | 37 |
| Goals and assists | 8 |
| Chances created per 90 | 1.06 |
| Dribble success | 28.9% |
That being said, Rogers’ £80m price tag is said to be his minimum valuation, and whether Villa would actually sell him for that is yet to be seen.
The main reason NSWE need to get him off the books is to alleviate financial pressure, as after only joining from Middlesbrough in a package deal worth £15m, the Villans will see a big profit from his exit.
The 24-year-old just helped Villa win their first European tournament since 1982, and it feels like a change in the summer would be the natural thing to do for all parties.

So if these deals go through, Villa will have money spare, maybe even around £40m, as there will be no excuses not to push on and give Emery what he wants.
Could Barnes’ arrival affect Emi Buendia’s future?
Emi Buendia will always be remembered as a hero in B6 now after scoring that goal in the Europa League final against Freiburg.
However, the Argentine is coming into the final 12 months of his deal at Villa Park, which makes this window the time to either cash in on him, or give him a new contract.
Given that the Villans are after Barnes and that Harry Wilson could very well be joining on a free transfer, Buendia’s future seems slightly uncertain.
The attacker can play across the frontline, and perhaps Rogers’ inevitable exit could give Emery the idea to play him centrally, with Wilson and Barnes on either side of him.
Either way, Buendia’s future will need to be resolved sooner rather than later.
