Aston Villa continue to call on Marco Bizot to bail them out.

The Villans were in desperate need of a new second-choice goalkeeper in the summer as Robin Olsen finally departed B6.

The Sweden international was shocking throughout his three years in the Midlands, but appeared to be a positive voice in the dressing room.

Unai Emery turned to the Brest number one, and the Dutchman made the move to Bodymoor Heath in the summer window.

Bizot has proven to be a great signing for Villa, and now we have assessed what we know about his current deal.

The 35-year-old is certainly an experienced figure, having featured as a first-choice shot stopper for multiple sides over the years.

He has already proven to be a useful asset for the claret and blue outfit, making more appearances than anyone truly expected at this point.

With Emi Martinez regularly dropping out of starting XI’s, the summer signing has already come in for 13 outings across all competitions.

That has made his minimal transfer fee worth every penny, especially on a contract that will last until the summer of 2027.

He penned a two-year deal in B6 and is reportedly being paid £45,000 per week and a yearly salary of the region of £2.3million.

Bizot has been a useful signing for Villa, and he could be in line to feature as a number one if Martinez continues to let his side down.

It says a lot that the claret and blue faithful weren’t even surprised when the Argentina international dropped out of the side to face Nottingham Forest.

Those antics have become frustratingly regular in the past two seasons and have certainly raised questions over his commitment.

Bizot has been called upon this season and has largely done well when given the chance.

That certainly wasn’t the case with Olsen in between the sticks last season, so having the Dutchman has made a difference.

If Martinez is going to continue that sort of behaviour in B6, the summer signing could be called upon regularly between now and the end of the season.
