Aston Villa: Why the search for a new front-of-shirt sponsor will stop early kit launch repeat
Aston Villa are yet to find a new sponsor to occupy their front of shirt for next season.
Betano are being forced out of Villa Park after two seasons due to a change in legislation affecting 11 Premier League sides.
A majority of the division’s outfits are sponsored by betting companies, something which will be outlawed once this campaign ends.
The Villans are yet to secure a new deal and have just weeks remaining until the curtain falls on the current season.
If Villa don’t find a new sponsor, they will face financial repercussions and will be forced to change direction from last year.

Aston Villa collaborate with agency to seal new front-of-shirt sponsor
The need for a front-of-shirt sponsor can’t be undersold as it is one of the biggest revenue streams a football club can have.
It’s suggested that Betano are currently paying £20million a year in B6, which is only the sixth most in the Premier League right now.
| Team | Sponsorship fee |
| Manchester City | £67.5m |
| Manchester United | £60m |
| Liverpool, Arsenal | £50m |
| Tottenham | £40m |
| Newcastle United | £25m |
| Aston Villa | £20m |
| Everton, West Ham, Fulham | £10m |
That is the most the claret and blue outfit has ever earned from a front-of-shirt sponsor, but they have no choice but to seek out a new deal elsewhere.
It appears that this process has hit a stumbling block and has left Villa just weeks away from the summer without fresh terms on the table.
Now the Villans have joined forces with Klutch Sports Group, the agency of NBA star LeBron James, to secure a new shirt sponsor.
As positive as that may be, it is a sign of just how difficult this process has been and raises concerns of going into next season without a deal.
Coca-Cola have been linked with the sponsorship of Villa, but it is unclear right now what will happen, and it could seriously damage the finances in B6.
Aston Villa kit release to be delayed by sponsor search
The claret and blue outfit have never been the fastest when it comes to releasing new shirts, but they did ahead of the current campaign.
Before the final day of last season, Villa released their black-and-light-blue away kit, inspired by the Bullring, and wore it at Old Trafford.
That coincided with the opening of a club shop in the shopping centre, leading to a spike in revenue ahead of the summer transfer window.

Villa would likely see that as a wise move to replicate at the end of this season, but they may have scuppered themselves.
If a new front-of-shirt sponsor isn’t sorted well before then, the release of new kits will have to be delayed until a deal is secured.
That could mark a drop in revenue compared to 12 months prior, something which isn’t ideal in an already trying financial situation.
