Andres Garcia set for do or die Aston Villa spell ahead of Premier League run-in
Andres Garcia has hardly covered himself in glory ever since signing for Aston Villa.
The Spaniard came in from Levante in January 2025 as a surprise move from the Segunda Division outfit.
Matty Cash’s stock was at a low back then, and it gave the 23-year-old a perfect chance to establish himself in front of the Villa Park faithful.
Initial positive reviews made way for frustration when he made a shocking error against Liverpool in a 2-2 draw just weeks after signing.
Injuries have been his problem this season, and with just seven games remaining this season, Garcia has his Aston Villa future on the line.

The latest breaking news on active deals, signings, departures, contracts and primary targets.
What has Andres Garcia actually done this season?
You wouldn’t blame a large number of fans in B6 for forgetting that the defender is still in the Midlands to this point.
He has hardly featured this season, and when given the chance, he has hardly set the world alight, unfortunately.
| Season | Total appearances | Premier League | FA Cup | Europa League |
| 2025-26 | 6 | 4 | 1 | 1 |
| 2024-25 | 10 | 7 | 3 | – |
That has limited him to just six appearances across all competitions, with his 37 Premier League minutes summing up his frustrations.
He has done nothing of note with zero expected goals, expected assists and shots in the league so far this campaign.

His most minutes came with 15 in the Europa League against Fenerbahce, but he could only complete three passes, one defensive action and a zero per cent cross accuracy.
That hardly comes as a surprise, but given his lack of minutes this season, he can’t be expected to have any sort of rhythm.
Garcia is still awaiting a chance at Aston Villa, but there will be questions over whether it will come before the end of the campaign.
Garcia has two months to prove himself at Aston Villa
The season will come to an end with a trip to face Manchester City in the Premier League, leaving just over seven weeks of action remaining.
Garcia has to see this upcoming period as an audition for Emery to prove exactly what he can bring to this Villa squad.
Cash has been excellent and will take some shifting, but the fact that Lamare Bogarde is played out of position ahead of the Spaniard says it all.

Considering the ex-Levante man has already started ahead of the Poland international, it proves that he can do exactly that.
If he can’t, it feels likely that he will be playing away from B6 when the campaign begins.
