Jake Livermore and Anthony Gordon react as Morgan Rogers shares latest England post

Jake Livermore and Anthony Gordon have responded to a series of images shared by Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers while on England duty.

There has been much talk surrounding the 23-year-old and whether he should start for England at the upcoming summer World Cup.

The Aston Villa player has plenty of competition, with Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Cole Palmer all battling it out for similar roles in the team.

At club level, the Englishman has been struggling to recapture the form that put him among the talk, and has failed to score or assist in his previous nine outings for Villa.

However, ahead of Aston Villa’s remaining fixtures, time with the English national team could do him the world of good.

What did Jake Livermore and Anthony Gordon say to Morgan Rogers?

Rogers was not involved in the England set-up for their draw against Uruguay, but has now since joined up with Tuchel’s squad.

Taking to his Instagram, Rogers shared a variety of images from the current England camp as the Three Lions gear up to face Japan on Tuesday.

The images portray the attacker in the England kit while also showcasing him at training with Gordon.

The Newcastle forward responded to the collage of images by simply commenting with two love heart emojis.

Additionally, Livermore sent the raising hands emoji.

The now-retired former England international would have crossed paths with Rogers when at West Brom.

Livermore and the Aston Villa player were both at the club between 2017 and 2019, with Rogers in the academy.

Why Morgan Rogers has a golden England chance now

While he was not part of the squad to face Uruguay, Rogers will more than likely be involved for the Three Lions against Japan.

Both Phil Foden and Noni Madueke were taken off injured, opening up space on the wing and down the middle of the pitch.

This will be England’s last game before Tuchel decides on his final squad for June, and while Rogers is in good standing to make the cut, he must now perform to cement his starting position.

While Cole Palmer’s corner did result in Ben White notching England’s goal, his performance was nothing more than acceptable.

If he gets the chance to start, Rogers could leave Tuchel no choice but to continue with him in North America with a strong display.
