Aston Villa: Alysson future already in doubt as dots connected with wish for PSG star Ibrahim Mbaye
Aston Villa‘s interest in PSG star Ibrahim Mbaye may highlight an underlying concern with winter signing Alysson.
The Villans are said to be one of several Premier League clubs interested in signing the 18-year-old PSG star this summer, who could be made available for transfer.
Mbaye made his debut for the French giants last season, but is starting to play a more prominent role for Luis Enrique this term, featuring in Ligue 1 games as well as Champions League fixtures.
However, with the Senegalese star, a young right-winger, the decision to bring Alysson to Villa Park may now raise eyebrows.
Aston Villa spent £8.7million to sign Alysson from Gremio in January, but with the winger still injured, his future could already be in doubt.

This is why Alysson’s future could be in doubt amid Ibrahim Mbaye interest
Alysson impressed on his Premier League debut, but has since picked up an injury that has ruled him out of Villa’s most recent games.
Unai Emery’s side has struggled to score and create chances this season, so the decision to sign Alysson was understandable, but a move to bring Mbaye may cause doubt.

Alysson’s last cameo came against Chelsea in the 4-1 defeat, and as of right now, it’s not known when the Brazilian will return.
The interest alone in Mbaye is enough to put doubt on Alysson’s future in B6, because it seems so like-for-like for no reason, other than that the former could be an upgrade.
Maybe NSWE have made a mistake, and they are trying to rectify it early doors to prevent another loss on the PSR books.
This could be the scenario with Alysson this summer
Alysson has only managed to make three Premier League appearances so far, and it’s unclear as to whether or not Emery thinks he is a player who can make an impact in the top-flight.
His debut against Brighton gave the whole of Villa Park a reason to believe the £8.7m price tag, but as seen with Emery in the past, he does not always agree with who NSWE decide to sign.

As seen by Sofascore in the graphic above, Alysson clearly has abilities that can be harnessed in English football, but a loan move could be the next step for him.
The teenager may have to drop to the Championship for game time, as Emery could be keen on giving Mbaye a chance instead next season, if Villa do pull off what would be a great deal.
