Aston Villa fans react as Boubacar Kamara shares positive injury progress – ‘Get your boots on’
Aston Villa fans have been left buzzing by Boubacar Kamara’s fitness update on social media this Friday.
Unai Emery has been without Kamara since the early stages of January, as he continues his recovery from a nasty knee injury.
The Frenchman has been ruled out until June, but some Villa fans are still hopeful that he can make a return in time for the final few games of the season.
While knee issues are always some of the hardest for footballers to overcome, the 26-year-old seems to be making good progress ahead of his return.
Villa have had an injury curse this season, but all may be forgiven if Kamara is back on the pitch soon.

Latest team news, fitness reports from Bodymoor Heath, and expected return dates.
What has Boubacar Kamara said about Aston Villa injury?
Kamara is arguably Emery’s most important player, and his absence has been seen in the recent poor run of form.
The Villans were undefeated in a whopping 14 games before the Frenchman was sidelined, as he helped his side to win the majority of them games.
| Games | 18 |
| Pass completion | 88% |
| Duel success | 57% |
| Tackles per game | 2.1 |
| Balls recovered per game | 3.6 |
| Average rating | 7.12 |
As highlighted by Sofascore, Kamara has an average rating of 7.12, which ranks as one of the highest among the entire Villa squad.
Villa Report shared images on X from the midfielder’s Instagram account, which suggest that he is 33 per cent of the way through his recovery.
Fans then took to the comment section to share their delight at the news, and may be guilty of wishful thinking.
One Aston Villa fan said: “Play on one leg, you’ll be sound, pal.”
Another Villa supporter said: “33 per cent will do us lad, get your boots back on.”
How has Douglas Luiz performed in Kamara absence?
Douglas Luiz’s Villa Park return filled the whole of B6 with joy in the fact that they were getting a suitable replacement for Kamara.
The Villans have the option to sign Luiz for a third time this summer, with a buy option contained in his loan contract from Juventus. But will Villa take that deal up?

As highlighted in the graphic above, Luiz’s average Sofascore rating is 6.87, which is 0.25 less than what Kamara’s is.
Though they offer different abilities as holding midfielders, it’s clear to see that Luiz isn’t filling the boots of Kamara right now.
Who knows? Maybe Kamara and Luiz could be the best midfield partnership at the club; we just may never be able to see it on the pitch ever again.
