Aston Villa fans hit out as ticket details drop for Bologna clash – ‘Shambles’
Aston Villa continue to anger supporters after a further ticket price increase ahead of their Europa League clash with Bologna.
The Villans will face off with the Serie A outfit once again after facing them in last season’s Champions League, league phase.
Vincenzo Italiano’s side booked a place in the quarter finals with an aggregate win over Roma as B6 loanee Donyell Malen was booted from the competition.
Villa made their way through in a much easier fashion as John McGinn and Leon Bailey secured progression to the next stage.
The Villa Park faithful were pleased with a 2-0 win over Lille, but have been left seriously unimpressed by ticket prices for the upcoming Bologna meeting.

Aston Villa release ticket prices for Bologna clash
The Villans have become a symbol of everything wrong with modern football, with their consistently high ticket costs causing plenty of controversy.
They remained firm in the Champions League last season and have now announced yet another increase ahead of a quarter-final second leg against Bologna.
| Prices | 1888 Seat | Price Zone 1 | Price Zone 2 | Price Zone 3 | Price Zone 4 | Wheelchair Bays |
| Adult | £77 (£67) | £77 (£67) | £71 (£61) | £67 (£57) | £65 (£55) | £65 (£55) |
| Over 66 / Under 21 | £77 (£67) | £77 (£67) | £60 (£55) | £58 (£53) | £54 (£49) | £54 (£49) |
| Armed Forces | £77 (£67) | £77 (£67) | £63 (£58) | £60 (£55) | £56 (£51) | £56 (£51) |
| Under 18 | £77 (£67) | £77 (£67) | £25 (£20) | £25 (£20) | £25 (£20) | £25 (£20) |
| Under 14 | £77 (£67) | £77 (£67) | £25 (£20) | £25 (£20) | £25 (£20) | £25 (£20) |
These prices represent a £10 increase in almost every area of the stadium, with only under-18 and under-14 supporters in Price Zones 2, 3, 4 and wheelchair bays avoiding a rise.
That hardly comes as a surprise nowadays, with Villa always doing their best to create frustration within their own fanbase.
They will argue that it is a European quarter-final we are talking about, but it is still a repeat of last season’s Champions League meeting, which takes away from the excitement.

It certainly hasn’t gone down well on the terraces, with many fans taking to social media to vent their frustrations just hours after Villa secured victory at home to Lille.
Aston Villa fans fume at ticket prices vs Bologna
An attendance of just 37,000 was inside Villa Park on Thursday to watch the Lille clash, marking an absence of around 5,000 fans.
That was largely down to the ticket prices, but in an attempt to combat that, Villa have decided to increase them. Doesn’t really make sense, does it?
That has been raised by Ty Bracey on X as he called out Damian Vidagany, saying: “I don’t wanna hear nonsense about needing the fans more than ever for this leg.
“We couldn’t fill the stadium with prices £20+ lower against Lille, and then you’ve raised them again, and to make it worse, give them 3 days to buy it when payday isn’t here for most then.”

The final sentiment has been echoed by many others, with one supporter questioning whether the date before most paydays is “a windup”, while another took issue with the timing.
They said: “Wow, you really couldn’t wait until payday for most fans? Remember, Bologna not selling out in the group? Yet you increase prices for the same team.”

Another fan has suggested that he feels sorry for the claret and blue faithful and has spoken out against the “baffling” prices.
That has only been echoed by a fellow supporter who has described the announcement as a shambles, which is no surprise.

These sum up the general feeling of Villa Park right now, as loyalty continues to be taken advantage of for the B6 club to make a quick buck.
An average adult ticket cost of £60 means a lot to each fan, but there is no way that charging an extra £20 each, compared to what may be seen as a fair price, would make any difference to Villa’s finances.
