Everything we know about Leon Bailey’s Aston Villa contract situation amid new exit links
Leon Bailey may soon be on his way out of Aston Villa.
The Jamaica international has recently returned to B6 but has only reminded supporters exactly why he was let go in the first place.
His performances haven’t been anything to write home about, and he has begun to grate on fans who want to see better.
He does have the quality and has shown that previously in claret and blue, but has been unable to since his loan deal at Roma was cut short.
Bailey is now on the verge of being replaced in the Midlands, so Villa News has assessed what we know about his current contract.
What is Leon Bailey’s Aston Villa contract situation?
The winger has seriously struggled for output in recent seasons, with his assist against Chelsea genuinely coming as a surprise.
He actually drove with the ball to the byline rather than cutting in, and it made a world of difference to set up Douglas Luiz for the opener.

That hasn’t been seen enough in B6, and for that reason, he will likely be replaced as soon as the summer transfer window opens.
It may not be too easy to get him off the books, as the Jamaican is under contract until 2027 after penning a new deal in February 2024.
It is his wages that could cause problems for the Villans as he is paid a reported £120,000 per week and approximately £6.2million each year.
That will likely contribute to the struggles of offloading the attacker, as was the case in the most recent summer window before his loan exit.
Who could replace Bailey at Aston Villa?
There are plenty of options out there on the right, but the Villans still need to be careful with who they decide to bring in.
Harry Wilson has been mooted as an option and would certainly bring plenty of experience and set-piece expertise to the Midlands.
On a free transfer, there aren’t many drawbacks to his signing, although he isn’t the most exciting option for a side lacking pace and directness.

Several names have been put forward, with Jens Petter Hauge the latest name on the suggestion list, with no deal done at this stage.
Regardless of who comes in, it does feel increasingly likely that Bailey will be shown the door.
