Aston Villa urged to sign Bodo/Glimt star Jens Petter Hauge as £20m wanted – Exclusive

Jens Petter Hauge could represent an ideal option as Aston Villa eye new right-winger signings.

Reports have emerged ahead of the summer transfer window that a new wide man is wanted by Unai Emery, ready for the next campaign.

Leon Bailey and Jadon Sancho are the true right-wing options in B6 right now, and neither has done themselves any favours in recent weeks.

That has seen Harry Wilson become a possible option from Fulham, although that is now said to have been drummed up by his representatives.

Villa could now turn to new targets with Hauge potentially representing an excellent option ahead of the summer.

Aston Villa could agree “sensible” deal for Jens Petter Hauge

The Norway international has certainly become better known to the wider footballing world this campaign after some stellar Champions League performances.

He has contributed to 23 goals from the start of 2025 to now, and 10 of those have come in Europe’s elite competitions.

Bodo/Glimt are in the round of 16 and are awaiting a two-legged clash with Sporting Lisbon, and may be hopeful of continuing their journey in the tournament.

The form of Hauge and his teammates has caught the eye and may spark the Villans into life, something which former scout Bryan King has now put forward.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, King said: “They should go after the boy from Bodo/Glimt, Hauge.

“He would be available for sensible money, and he can play on either side. He’s the kind of player they need to be looking at.

“They need a bit of steel, and he has that.

“He could cope with a step up to the Premier League, and I’m sure his wage demands will be reasonable as well.

“Bodo will want around £20m for him, which is a lot of money for a team in Norway.

“I can see him making a move to England after his form in the Champions League this season.”

Who is Jens Petter Hauge?

The 26-year-old has truly been thrown into the spotlight this season alongside Kasper Hogh, with both scoring goals for fun in the Champions League.

He could be a useful asset at Villa Park, although there may be a number of supporters in B6 who aren’t sure who Hauge is.

The versatile forward came through the youth setup at Bodo/Glimt and is now one of their biggest stars, but there has been a large journey between his two spells at Aspmyra Stadion.

He departed Bodo for AC Milan in 2020, but was loaned out after one year to join Eintracht Frankfurt before ultimately joining them permanently.

He then left them on loan in the same year he joined on a loan switch to Gent, before then returning to his boyhood club on an initial loan in 2024.

Hauge is now flourishing and could be ready to take another delve into a top league, potentially with Aston Villa.
