Aston Villa to land new boost on top of £2m payday for Bayern Munich friendly – Exclusive
Aston Villa could benefit outside of a multi-million-pound deal to play Bayern Munich this summer.
A 6,000-mile journey could await Unai Emery’s side ahead of the next campaign, with Vincent Kompany’s men mooted as the opponents.
Reports have emerged suggesting that the Villans could be ready for a trip to face the Bundesliga giants in the summer.
An exhibition match in Hong Kong has been mooted as the Special Administrative Region of China looks set to play host to the B6 outfit for the first time in 15 years.
It appears that financial incentives are in place to convince the Villa Park outfit to make the trip into East Asia outside of the matchday fee.
Aston Villa shirt sale boost mooted in Hong Kong
The summer clash is yet to be confirmed by the claret and blue outfit, but if it goes ahead, it could be hugely beneficial.
Villa have long struggled with financial issues and are seemingly desperate for any new sources of revenue they could find.
An exhibition with Bayern Munich could bring in a sizable fee while also promoting the Villans to a new audience in Asia, after their last game in Hong Kong in 2011.

Former Villa scout Bryan King has mooted a payday in the region of £2million for the B6 outfit, as well as a boost in shirt sales from the continent.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, King said: “How much money will be on offer in Hong Kong?
“Villa won’t go for less than a million because other clubs go out there for that reason.
“Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, Liverpool, they’ve all been out there, and the minimum they get is a million.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Villa get around £2m nowadays.
“It’s a long way to travel, so clubs will only go there if the fee is big enough.
“There could be £5m on offer for both Villa and Bayern Munich, and they’ll split it down the middle.
“It’ll certainly help Villa boost their shirt sales because the Premier League is enormous in that part of the world.”
Bayern Munich friendly could benefit PSR at Aston Villa
The financial rules are set to change in the Premier League, but the issues are likely to remain for the claret and blue outfit.
With changes coming to Villa Park on top of The Warehouse’s opening, there is hope for an influx of revenue down the line.
A new stream of income could soon emerge from Hong Kong and beyond if the Villans can make a good account of themselves in the summer.
The fee for playing in East Asia may be just the start of a potential relationship with the region after years of domination from the likes of Manchester United.
Their worldwide brand has helped them seemingly be immune to PSR or SCR, and that is the sort of place Villa want to be in.
