Aston Villa open themselves up to Villa Park sponsorship opportunities with redevelopment plans

Aston Villa could be in line for much-needed new revenue streams over the coming years.

The Villans have been struggling financially in recent seasons as PSR concerns continue to heavily restrict Unai Emery’s side.

Transfer windows have become pretty farcical as the claret and blue outfit jump through hoops to try and avoid points deductions and further fines.

That hasn’t stopped Nassef Sawiris, Wes Edens and Co. from investing in infrastructure at Villa Park, with North Stand plans continuing to roll on.

The widescale improvements in B6 could be exactly what is needed to help improve the financial landscape, with plans pointing towards a bright future.

Villa Park naming rights may become available

Villa Park is one of the great, traditional remaining stadiums in the Premier League, and there is a call to keep it as is for many.

Improvements are welcomed, but the idea of moving away or an entire rebuild isn’t going to be welcomed by a large portion of the fanbase.

That filters into the name of the ground, with many being staunchly against the idea of selling the naming rights to a sponsor.

With PSR frustrations, that could be an easy avenue to utilise to bring in new funds, especially with the North Stand redevelopments.

One aspect of the planning application from 2025 highlights the design of the new South-West Corner design, which features space for “advertising future content”.

That could open the Villans up to new sponsors or even naming rights sponsors who may have a say about what they call Villa Park.

These kinds of deals can land multi-million-pound contracts, and that in itself could be massive for the financial improvement of the B6 outfit.

Aston Villa could also rename ‘The Warehouse’

Although the North Stand construction is yet to begin in its entirety, the land behind it has already undergone massive changes.

The club shop has been given a facelift and now features LED screens at the shop front, while the interior is top drawer and features a café space.

Alongside the store, ‘The Warehouse’ has been built inside the former academy building, which will be used as a fan zone on matchdays and as a venue for other events.

It has opened twice for test events so far, and before opening fully, it could be given a new name, as A “signage location” features in the planning permission.

That could open the Villans up to securing a naming rights sponsor of its own for that space, which could open up a brand new revenue stream in B6.

On top of the money that is brought in on matchday through sales, that would certainly represent the boost the hierarchy were surely hoping for.

Throw all of that in with a potential naming rights sponsor for Villa Park, the financial future of the claret and blue outfit could be closer to the so-called “big six”.
