Emi Buendia knows exactly how to shine vs Chelsea after Aston Villa star stunned last season
Emi Buendia could prove to be the difference-maker for Aston Villa against Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Argentine has come under scrutiny at Villa Park in recent weeks as his performance levels have continued to drop.
He has failed to score or assist since his stunning strike away to Newcastle United in the 2-0 win at St James’ Park.
There has been little excitement to speak of ever since for the attacking midfielder, with many calling for him to be dropped from the starting XI in B6.
A Premier League clash against Chelsea awaits Unai Emery’s side, with Buendia potentially set to follow in the footsteps of Marco Asensio.

Marco Asensio bagged brace vs Chelsea last season
The Villans brought Marcus Rashford and Asensio last January with the hope of securing Champions League qualification.
That goal wasn’t achieved, but that didn’t take away from the duo making a lasting impression while wearing claret and blue.
The Real Madrid loanee started his first Premier League game in B6 against Chelsea and made a positive impact at Villa Park.
The Spaniard scored two in the second half to help the Villans to a 2-1 win against the Blues in a stellar performance, as showcased by Sofascore.

He maintained an 85 per cent pass accuracy on the day, which he utilised to create two chances while also having three shots.
Asensio’s showing also featured one successful dribble, two accurate long balls and two defensive contributions, something which Buendia could certainly learn from.
Emi Buendia can learn from Asensio heroics at Aston Villa
Rashford bagged two assists while Asensio scored the winning goals, all while Buendia had been shipped off to play for Bayer Leverkusen on loan.
Things have changed since, and now the ex-Norwich City man is the only player to still be at Villa Park and has been excellent at times this campaign.
The 29-year-old started last time out against Wolves and failed to show his best as he contributed just 0.03 expected goals and assists at Molineux.
He also lost nine duels and was eventually taken off with 20 minutes to spare, summing up everything wrong about his showing in the Black Country.
If he can channel Asensio and hit the heights of the Spaniard, Buendia could prove to have a telling say at Villa Park on Wednesday.
