Aston Villa have significant Jadon Sancho decision to make after latest Man United development
Jadon Sancho’s move to Aston Villa felt like the last roll of the dice for the Englishman in the Premier League.
Since his move to Manchester United, Sancho has failed to live up to the high expectations he had set himself based on his Borussia Dortmund stint.
From 2024 onwards, the Red Devils have been looking to rid themselves of the 25-year-old, and Aston Villa are the third side in a list of loan moves in that period.
Despite sporadic starts across the season, Unai Emery has left the door open to a permanent move, stating: “He will need another contract and maybe it could be here.”
Now, new developments out of Old Trafford could affect that possibility.

Jadon Sancho will be available for free in the summer
Sancho has found himself in a stable environment at Aston Villa, even if his game time has been limited at times.
At Chelsea, he faced the revolving door of players and the plethora of competition for places. Meanwhile, he had never truly settled in at Old Trafford.
The Englishman has spent the season at Villa Park, where he has scored just one goal and assisted another in 25 appearances.
Now, if Villa want to sign him permanently, the pathway to doing so has been made much easier.
According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United are set to allow Sancho to leave Old Trafford for free.
The Englishman’s contract at the Red Devils is set to expire this summer; however, they do have the option to extend it.
In this case, the 20-time Premier League champions are opting to waive that option and, in the process, waive the chance of recouping money for the £73million winger.
The Manchester side are said to be unwilling to risk another season of paying Sancho’s wages
This leaves the Englishman available for any club on a free transfer, and it now leaves both Villa and Sancho with a big decision to make.
Has Sancho done enough to stay at Aston Villa?
It is fair to say that English football has not been Sancho’s best friend, with his spells at both Manchester United and Chelsea leaving a lot to be desired.
Under Emery, he has had a little more luck, but even then, it has not been an overwhelming success. The former Borussia Dortmund man has played the role of rotation winger well, but truthfully, that is about as far as his contribution has gone.
The 25-year-old has primarily been used in Europe, with six starts from seven appearances. However, domestically paints a different picture.

Sancho has made just six starts and made 15 appearances from the 21 games he has been eligible to play this season for Villa.
With that in mind, it may end up being better for both parties to go their separate ways, unless Sancho can dramatically reduce his reported £200,000-a-week wage.
For the rest of the season, Sancho will be playing for his Aston Villa future.
