Aston Villa months away from ‘amazing’ Jarrod Bowen swoop amid £50m West Ham claim

Aston Villa have been mooted as the ideal landing spot for West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.

Aston Villa appear nailed on for European football again next season, given the fact that they are 10 points ahead of Sunderland, who sit just one place outside of the top seven.

As for what competition it will be, the rest of the campaign will decide that, and as for how well they fare in it, the summer transfer window will decide that.

Villa had their hands tied somewhat in the winter, but the summer will provide the chance to strengthen the squad where possible, and a move for Bowen could be on the cards.

Sky pundit names Aston Villa as potential destination for Jarrod Bowen

As things stand, West Ham sit six points from safety, but that could change this weekend with the two sides above them, Leeds and Nottingham Forest, set to face off against each other.

The Irons themselves take on Burnley, which is, by all means, a relegation six-pointer.

If the Hammers are relegated, Bowen will not be sticking around in the Championship, and the likelihood of that happening is increasing by the week.

There will be plenty of interest for the 29-year-old if that were to be the case, but Sky Sports pundit Dougie Critchley has previously claimed that Villa Park would be the ideal destination.

Via X, he said in January: “This is the final move of his career, as I said 30 in December, no sell-on value.£50million max.

“Which Premier League club would go for him? Personally, I think he’d be an amazing signing for Aston Villa.

With the Premier League season ending in May, it may only be a matter of months until we see Bowen in an Aston Villa shirt if that were to come true.

What would Bowen’s arrival at Aston Villa change?

Quite frankly, everything.

If there is one position in the current Aston Villa side that seems weaker than the rest, it is certainly their options on the right flank.

Jadon Sancho has been utilised there to little effect, while the likes of Leon Bailey and co are also a massive step down in quality when compared to the rest of the side.

A frontline consisting of Morgan Rogers, Bowen and Ollie Watkins would guarantee goals on a weekly basis and make the Villans increasingly harder to contain.

This season has largely been a case of stop Rogers and you stop Aston Villa, but the arrival of Bowen would shift that perspective completely.
