Every Aston Villa player now set to leave in summer: Three deals done and £25m signing

Aston Villa will have a number of succession plans in place ahead of the summer.

Villa are still in the Premier League title race and will be hopeful of maintaining their form to secure qualification to the Champions League.

Recent home defeats for Villa against Brentford and Everton have put a dent in their ambitions, but the January window still provided reasons for positivity.

Unai Emery and Co. brought experienced heads Douglas Luiz and Tammy Abraham back to Villa, as well as youngsters Brian Madjo and Alysson.

There will now be questions about what the summer window could look like, with various stars potentially destined for a B6 exit at the end of the campaign.

Aston Villa to lose three loan stars in summer

The Villans completed three permanent deals and one loan deal over the winter, with Luiz joining on loan from Juventus until the end of the season.

He is the third loanee on the squad list at Villa Park right now, with all three destined to depart once their deals finish in June.

Harvey Elliott and Jadon Sancho both signed in the summer on contrasting deals, as there is no option to buy the Manchester United man in the summer.

By comparison, there is a £35million obligation to buy Elliott, although that hinges on him playing 10 games in B6, which seems increasingly unlikely.

There is a similar option in place for Luiz, placed at £25m, that could be activated depending on his performance level.

The Brazilian has no guarantee of completing a full-time switch at Villa Park, so he could be on his way out in the summer.

Leon Bailey could soon leave Aston Villa permanently

There are no contract concerns on the table for Emery, with Ross Barkley seemingly confirming his contract doesn’t expire in June 2026.

The midfielder spoke out on X to suggest that reports over a summer exit were untrue, which can only be seen as positive news in B6.

He could still depart in the summer and agree a move elsewhere, but it won’t be on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

There are other stars who could be on their way out of Villa Park in the summer, with someone like Leon Bailey bound to face an uncertain future.

He signed for £25m from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2021, but has fallen down the pecking order, even after his early loan return from Roma.

If Villa could agree a permanent exit for a positive fee, Villa may well accept that and wave goodbye to him in the summer.

There looks likely to be a number of exits, but at this stage, new signings would be required until departures can be unlocked.
