Aston Villa fans absolutely love what Tyrone Mings did to Jhon Duran vs Fenerbahce – ‘Class’

Tyrone Mings was excellent in Aston Villa’s 1-0 win over Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday.

Jadon Sancho scored the winner in the 25th minute with a composed header from Matty Cash’s cross.

A hard-fought second half saw both teams have goals disallowed for offside, but Unai Emery’s men held on to secure all three points.

The result leaves Villa third in the table with just their final match at home against RB Salzburg left to play, now qualified for the final 16.

It’s a very important win for Emery’s side, and Villa fans were thrilled with how Mings handled Jhon Duran during the match.

Having spent over two years in B6, Duran was impressive for Aston Villa, but eventually left in search of more game time as Ollie Watkins continued to be selected ahead of him.

Duran signed for Al-Nassr for £64million plus add-ons last January, but moved on loan to the Turkish giants in the summer.

The 22-year-old was initially suspended for the match against Villa, but once it was overturned, some supporters were worried about what he could do against Mings.

However, the 32-year-old defender never gave him a moment’s rest, and crunched into Duran early on in the game to let him know that he wasn’t in for an easy ride.

Several Villa fans loved what they saw and held huge amounts of praise for the English centre-back on social media.

One fan said: “Mings is owning Duran!”

Another supporter added: “Excellent first half. So good to have Mings back – especially in a game like this.”

Mings has suffered plenty of injuries throughout his career, but he has always returned to the team with the same determination and passion.

Tyrone Mings proves his worth to Unai Emery

Mings has made nine appearances in all competitions this season, and it’s clear that he is still a huge asset to the Villans.

Mings has been impressive throughout his Villa career, playing a key role in turning them from a team that was fighting relegation to one that is competing for the Champions League.

Over the last decade, he has been one of the very few English defenders to have maintained a starting role in the Premier League, and his longevity has been incredible.

Although Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa were sitting on the bench, it looked as though Villa didn’t need them from a defensive standpoint.

Of course, Mings wasn’t as clean in possession as they were, but he did what was needed to keep out Duran and ensure that the Villans guaranteed Europa League qualification for the round of 16.
