NSWE ready to push financial limits as Tammy Abraham agrees Aston Villa transfer return

Tammy Abraham is inching closer to completing his return to Aston Villa.

Unai Emery’s top priority was to sign a striker in the transfer window, and the Villans had already done that with the announcement of Brian Madjo.

However, the young forward is one for the future, as Villa have set their sights on re-signing Abraham to compete with Ollie Watkins up top.

The former Aston Villa number nine is currently on loan at Besiktas from parent club Roma, where a deal will have to be reached between all parties to sanction his B6 comeback.

However, Villa are now reaching the final stages as Abraham has agreed to a Villa Park return years after his successful loan spell in the 2018-19 season.

Aston Villa now ‘very close’ to Tammy Abraham deal

Abraham was a fan favourite at Villa Park for playing an instrumental role in helping the Villans back to the big time.

Despite only a one-year stay at Villa in the Championship, supporters have since dreamed of the 28-year-old playing for the Villans in the Premier League, and that is now looking more like a reality.

According to Matteo Moretto on Tuesday, Villa are now “very close” to finalising a deal for Abraham’s return.

Besiktas have met their conditional obligation to buy Abraham, which was included in his loan deal from Roma.

This means that Aston Villa will currently be in negotiations with the Turkish side and Roma over the next steps, with the forward’s current wage at £100,000 per week.

What are Aston Villa’s transfer plans after Abraham?

Villa have been battling Profit and Sustainability rules for years, and NSWE have been trying to balance things out at Villa Park.

There’s no doubt that the Villans are becoming a more profitable club due to success in European competitions and, of course, the Premier League, but concerns remain.

Striking a deal for Abraham could alter Villa’s transfer plans for the rest of the window, with suggestions that NSWE will be near their PSR limit.

This means that Roberto Olabe and Co. will be under extreme pressure to get any further additions financially spot on, without breaching limits.

However, Abraham could also be Villa’s marquee signing of the month, as no other recruits may be required or feasible once the impending transfer is closed.
