Every player Aston Villa have been linked with signing as January transfer window opens

Aston Villa are set for an interesting January transfer window as they look to maintain their Premier League title push.

Villa may have lost 4-1 to Arsenal in their final match of 2026, but they remain firmly in the top three of the division and nine points within the top four.

Unai Emery has turned things around after a shocking start to the season, with Villa’s 2-1 win against Chelsea being a crowning moment so far.

Villa have found themselves in a title race and will be keen to remain in that conversation moving deeper into the season.

As the January transfer window opens, Villa News has now detailed every single player that has been linked with a move to Villa Park in recent weeks.

Aston Villa edge closer to Alysson transfer

Villa have already agreed a deal to sign Alysson from Gremio, with the Brazilian set to move to the Midlands early in 2026.

The teenager has already said his goodbyes to the Serie A outfit, pointing towards his claret and blue switch being ever closer to completion.

There has been no confirmation from the Villans at this stage, but that is likely to come at an early stage of the transfer window.

A medical has seemingly been penned in for many weeks, so the confirmation of Alysson’s signing looks to be in the pipeline already.

Brentford star Igor Thiago has emerged as a target

Igor Thiago has been a constant threat throughout this Premier League season after a stellar spell under Keith Andrews at Brentford.

The Brazilian has already scored 12 goals across all competitions and has emerged as a potential big-money option for the Villans.

Ollie Watkins has struggled in front of goal this campaign, while Donyell Malen seems to be most effective as an impact substitute option.

Thiago could be an ideal option in B6, although he would likely come at a sizable price that may not be affordable for Villa in this January window.

Gonzalo Garcia of Real Madrid and Kaio Jorge of Cruzeiro have been named as previous striker targets, although those links appear to have gone cold at this stage.

Aston Villa linked to various other January transfers

Although finances may be tight in claret and blue this winter, that hasn’t stopped a large volume of transfer rumours surrounding the Villans.

Oscar Mingueza and Matteo Guendouzi seemingly remain as targets after years of reported interest at Villa Park.

Abde Ezzalzouli is another name linked to the Midlands, while more unknown options, like Tarik Muharemovic and Christos Mouzakitis, have been named recently.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is a bigger-name target who has emerged in reports, though club figures have quickly shut that down.

Noise will continue to reverberate around Villa Park until the winter window comes to a close, with the final look of the squad bound to make for interesting reading in B6.
