Everything Aston Villa fans missed as Tammy Abraham may have just waved farewell with a bang

Tammy Abraham has been touted with a sensational return to Villa Park this month.

With Donyell Malen on the verge of joining Roma, Unai Emery may need to reinforce his forward line with another signing before the window shuts.

Villa were able to sign Brian Madjo earlier this week, but the 17-year-old striker is one for the future at Villa Park and isn’t expected to play a first-team role for now.

Abraham has been strongly linked with Aston Villa, who spent one season as a Villan on loan from Chelsea in 2019, in which he helped Dean Smith’s side win promotion to the Premier League.

Tammy Abraham may have said emphatic Besiktas goodbye

Abraham’s potential return to Aston Villa is complicated, though, as he’s in a fairly unprecedented situation.

Whilst Roma are his parent club, Besiktas have met the conditions to trigger a permanent move for the 28-year-old, which Villa must now persuade them not to do if they are indeed serious about signing him.

But, if it is to be Villa Park that he’s destined for, then Abraham might just have signed off as a Besiktas player in style.

In a Turkish Cup clash with Keciorengucu on Thursday night, Abraham scored a superb header to open the scoring for Besiktas, who went on to win the game 3-0.

Abraham has been in superb form for Besiktas

Signing for the club in this season’s summer window, Abraham left Roma looking for consistent playing time once again after spending the 2024-25 campaign out on loan with AC Milan.

There, the former England international scored 10 times in 44 appearances, but only three of those goals came in Serie A.

However, his goalscoring form in league football has improved with Besiktas, as he’s scored seven in 17 Turkish Super Lig games, whilst also adding a further six in other competitions.

Having possibly signed off with a bang, Emery will be desperate for Abraham to continue doing exactly that at Aston Villa, back in the Premier League this time.
