Aston Villa’s plan for Moise Kean to replace Donyell Malen as hefty release clause revealed

Donyell Malen’s time at Aston Villa appears to be coming to an end, with Roma ready to finalise a transfer.

Unai Emery is prepared for transfer activity this month, and the first dominoes are starting to fall.

Roma are keen to land Malen, which would see the forward join Leon Bailey, who is currently on loan with the Serie A outfit.

Villa fans are not happy with Malen’s potential exit, as the Dutchman was just starting to find his feet at B6.

However, Unai Emery and Villa’s recruitment team are now turning their attention to Fiorentina’s Moise Kean as Malen’s replacement.

Aston Villa could trigger £57m release clause for Moise Kean

Malen has never really been able to cement himself in Villa’s starting lineup, with many questioning what the attacker’s best position actually is.

But there would be no doubts as to where Kean would play, as the Italian already boasts Premier League experience.

According to reports from Italian outlet Calciomercato.it on Tuesday, Aston Villa are eyeing up a move for Kean, due to the risk they face of losing Malen.

The ex-Everton and Juventus forward has a £57million release clause, which NSWE don’t seem to be too thrown off by.

However, Kean is said to be happy in Italy, and would like to stay, though it’s not known whether his agents have been contacted by the Villans at this stage.

Why Kean would be perfect for Aston Villa

Kean had a season-best with Fiorentina last season, scoring 25 times in 44 games. However, this season the number nine has come off the boil a touch, and sits on five league goals in 19 appearances.

Despite this, Kean is managing to get into vital areas for his side, and has registered an expected goal tally of 11.7

Although this may look alarming at first when considering his actual goal output, the 25-year-old’s performance in the last campaign is enough evidence to show how good he truly is.

There’s no doubt that Kean will know that he needs to do better, but sometimes a change is what’s required to get players back to their best in football.

Kean would do well to find a better manager than Emery, as the Spaniard can once again work his magic touch to get the striker firing for the Villans should a transfer materialise.
