Emi Buendia awful as 2/10 even worse – Aston Villa player ratings vs Arsenal
Aston Villa were hammered 4-1 by Arsenal in a miserable showing in North London on Tuesday evening.
Gabriel opened the scoring for the Gunners just after the interval, with the goal awarded despite Emi Martinez’s complaints that he had been fouled.
Unai Emery‘s side then capitulated, and Martin Zubimendi doubled the hosts’ lead at the Emirates Stadium, before Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus put the result beyond doubt.
It was an embarrassing display from the Villa Park outfit as Ollie Watkins scored a late consolation, and leaves their place in the title race in tatters.

Emi Buendia woeful in Aston Villa loss
Buendia was the hero for Villa last time against Arsenal, scoring a late winner in a 2-1 victory at Villa Park, and marking a sensational redemption.
However, he was the villain on this occasion, as he struggled to show his influence in a critical juncture in his revival.
The Argentine winger was hooked after 61 minutes, having completed just 79 per cent of his passes, and created just one chance, per Sofascore.
He had 20 touches, and only one of those came in the attacking box, with one pass into the final third, in an awful attacking display.
When he tried to help out defensively, he struggled, winning three of the eight ground duels that he attempted, for a 38 per cent success rate.

It may be time for Emery to reconsider his place in the team.

Lucas Digne even worse then Buendia in Villa defeat
Lucas Digne’s place in Villa team is already under question with Ian Maatsen waiting in the wings to replace him.
It may be time after what happened against Mikel Arteta’s side, as Digne put in an atrocious showing and was constantly beaten down the flank.
He made one error leading to a goal and made just one interception in the contest, as he struggled to defend against the Gunners’ attackers.
Offensively, he completed one of his five cross attempts, and made just one pass into the final third, such a difference from his usual strong attacking showings.
