Aston Villa to have new contacts for Harvey Elliott exit as Alysson medical booked

Aston Villa and Liverpool will hold further talks to determine what’s best for Harvey Elliott in the winter transfer window.

It’s clear that the Villans are trying to avoid triggering the £35million obligation to buy the England Under-21 international, having been left out of the squad since the end of October.

Elliott’s future lies away from Villa Park, but finding him another club this season may be complicated, as FIFA rules don’t allow players to play official matches for more than two clubs.

Unai Emery is already set to make Gremio’s Alysson his first January signing, with plans for the future already in place.

Alysson medical at Aston Villa to take place soon

Alysson is expected to travel to England to undergo his medical at Villa imminently, Fabrizio Romano says.

The Villans have been in conversation with Liverpool regarding Elliott, who doesn’t seem to have a future at Villa Park.

With the Brazilian winger expected to be part of the Lions’ project, there may be no room for the Englishman in B6.

Speaking on Men in Blazers on 23 December, Romano said, “They are talking to Liverpool to find the best solution for the player. There will be new contacts to understand what could be his best solution. But I don’t see him staying at Villa at all.”

The journalist added, “And also because Villa are already completing their first January signing of the window. It’s a Brazilian winger, 19 years old from Gremio, Alysson, for £10m plus £2m in add-ons. The player will be in England for his medical very soon. So Villa are already preparing for the future. And for Elliott in this moment is to only leave the club.”

At this point, Emery will surely be happy to send Elliott back to Anfield, but whether that’s a feasible option for the player remains to be seen.

NSWE get recruitment horribly wrong for Unai Emery

Emery has Villa fans dreaming of winning the Premier League despite spending the least money in the summer.

Marco Bizot and Evann Guessand were the only two permanent signings at the Villans, but they haven’t really improved the starting lineup.

The Spanish manager is still relying on his core group of players from last season, and after a poor start in the current campaign, the Lions now find themselves just three points behind league leaders Arsenal.

One can only imagine what Emery could’ve achieved this season had NSWE spent more money in the summer, but they have a chance to redeem themselves in January.
