Supercomputer predicts result of Chelsea vs Aston Villa in Premier League

Aston Villa travel to West London to take on Chelsea on Saturday as they look to continue their 10-match winning run.

Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Villa on 1 November is the last time Unai Emery‘s side dropped points in all competitions, and they are clearly an incredible force at the moment.

Morgan Rogers is in unstoppable form, while Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana are playing exceptionally well together in midfield.

Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Man United on Sunday has them third in the league, three points off first-placed Arsenal, and fully confident that they can challenge for the title.

Chelsea predicted as favourites to beat Aston Villa

Chelsea come into the match having won just one of their last five Premier League matches, and they are experiencing a rough patch under Enzo Maresca.

Last time out, his side came from 2-0 down to draw with Newcastle at St. James’ Park, and they currently sit seven points behind Villa in fourth place.

According to Opta‘s supercomputer, Villa‘s winning run will end on Saturday.

Home advantage obviously plays a huge part in a team’s chances of winning, and Villa have also failed to score on their last two visits to Stamford Bridge.

In the last meeting between the two sides, the Villans claimed a dramatic 2-1 win at Villa Park thanks to Marco Asensio’s double.

Although Chelsea pipped Villa to Champions League qualification on the final day of 2024-25, Emery’s side has certainly improved since then.

What makes Aston Villa so tough to beat this year?

The main difference since that cruel day in May has been the change in mentality among the players.

The majority of the squad has remained the same, and having to play Europa League football this season has certainly motivated the players to go one further this campaign.

The decision to play John McGinn out wide has worked brilliantly, and Villa are now confident in possession and tough to break down off the ball.

In attack, the individual brilliance of Rogers, Emi Buendia, or Youri Tielemans can change a game on its head, and Villa’s goal catalogue for the season so far has been truly spectacular.

If Chelesa do manage to end Villa’s winning streak, then it will have to be a fairly spectacular performance given the way Emery has set up his side in recent weeks.
