Paul Scholes only one talking sense amid crazy Morgan Rogers to Manchester United talk
Morgan Rogers bagged a brace for Aston Villa against Manchester United, so of course, their former players now want him at Old Trafford.
Rogers scored two beauties against Man United to help secure a 2-1 victory and make it ten wins from ten in all competitions.
The England international didn’t have his greatest game, but he still was the difference between Villa securing victory over United for the first time since 2022.
Rogers was linked to Chelsea in the summer, but has gone on to sign a new deal at Villa Park and showcase just how good he is.
That has now prompted former Manchester United stars to pipe up and suggest the Red Devils should “go and get” Rogers.

Nicky Butt tells Manchetser United to sign Morgan Rogers
Rogers is the star man at Villa right now, and with a Premier League title challenge still on the cards, is catching the eye of the wider football world.
The attacking midfielder has featured off the left in recent weeks and has chipped in with 13 goal involvements already this season across all competitions.
That has helped Unai Emery’s side to turn things around after a shocking start to the season, with Champions League qualification now looking increasingly likely.
Even with that being the case, those associated with Man United still think they have a right to sign the Englishman.
Nicky Butt has urged the Red Devils to “bully” Aston Villa and sign Rogers in a so-called “realistic” move on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast.
He said: “A realistic one if Manchester United get back to going and bullying teams and signing their best players, is Morgan Rogers, go and get him.
Paddy McGuinness went on to chip in with an equally silly remark about what Villa supporters will supposedly be thinking about the 23-year-old.
“Oh yeah, that’s a good shout. I think Villa, because they’re up there and Villa are talking about them in the same realms as Arsenal for winning the league, I think Villa fans will be sweating on Rogers.“
Luckily for everyone listening to the podcast, Paul Scholes chipped in with some logic and understands that Man United aren’t what they once were.
The ex-midfielder said: “We did go and get the best players. We got Dwight Yorke from Aston Villa. I’m not sure we’re in that position right now.“
Manchester United won’t sign Rogers from Aston Villa
This shouldn’t need explaining to Butt or McGuinness, but there is no world where Rogers leaves B6 and joins Manchester United any time soon.
In the days of Sir Alex Ferguson and Premier League title challenges, yes, but in 2025, no.
Villa sit 10 points clear of United in third, while the Old Trafford outfit are seventh off the back of their 16th place finish last campaign.
That alone provides little reason why anyone would swap Villa Park for the Red Devils, never mind one of the best players in the league right now.
