Meanwhile, central defenders Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings as well as midfielder Ross Barkley all enter Sunday’s game as injury doubts.

Emi Martinez has also been dealing with a back problem over the last few weeks, but could be fit to make his return against Man United.

As for United, Amad Diallo, Noussair Mazraoui and Bryan Mbuemo are all no longer available to Ruben Amorim as they have departed for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Central midfield maestro Casemiro will also be missing for the Red Devils, as he serves a one-match suspension for picking up his fifth yellow card of the season versus Bournemouth last time out.

Centre-back pair Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt also look set to miss out through injury.

Aston Villa: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Lindelof, Digne, Onana, Kamara, McGinn, Tielemans, Rogers, Malen

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Manchester United

Aston Villa are in superb form in all competitions, and it would take a brave soul to bet against them making it seven-straight Premier League wins this weekend.

Interestingly, Man United have had the upper hand in this fixture in recent years, with the Red Devils unbeaten in their last six meetings with Villa in all competitions.

However, with Amorim’s squad stripped of some major quality thanks to AFCON commitments, and with a Casemiro-less midfield, that could be about to change.

Aston Villa have lost just once at Villa Park in the Premier League this season, and they’ll be uber confident they can put another big three points on the board this weekend.
