Should they avoid defeat here, it’ll be their fewest home top-flight defeats in a year since 1983.

As a top-flight side, Villa last won seven straight league games between December 1989 and February 1990, while they last won 10 consecutive matches in all competitions between January and March 1914.
When the summer transfer window closed, the Villans were predicted to finish ninth in the Premier League, but now all eyes are on the Champions League.
The only negative for Emery’s side is their struggle to beat Man United in recent seasons.

On the final day of the 2024-25 season, Villa lost 2-0 to Man United, and a win would have secured Champions League qualification.
Villa have won just one of their last 26 Premier League home games against Man United, beating them 3-1 in November 2022 in Emery’s first match in charge.
Ruben Amorim’s side have won 41 Premier League games against Villa, with 18 of those coming away from home.
Painful memories against the Red Devils have been frequent, but Sunday’s match represents the best opportunity for them to create a new piece of club history.
