Aston Villa’s chances of beating Man United have just drastically increased, here’s why
Aston Villa take on Manchester United on Sunday as they look to continue their supreme Premier League form.
Unai Emery’s side have now won 10 of their last 11 games in the top-flight, and are just three points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.
Morgan Rogers was the hero for Aston Villa last Sunday, grabbing a second-half brace as the Midlands outfit beat West Ham United 3-2 at the London Stadium.
Villa will go into their game against the Red Devils full of confidence, and they have just received a big boost to their chances of grabbing all three points.
Man United lose key man ahead of Aston Villa clash
Man United drew 4-4 with Bournemouth on Monday, meaning they now sit sixth in the Premier League, seven points behind Aston Villa.
Ruben Amorim’s side have only lost one out of their last ten games, but their inconsistent nature is still evident with only five wins in that period.
In their clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford, there was a moment of significance for Villa, as Casemiro was booked five minutes into the second half.
The Brazilian midfielder will now miss Man United’s trip to Villa Park, and it will force Amorim to reshuffle his midfield.

United will also be without Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui, who have all now departed for the African Cup of Nations.
Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara are both one booking away from suspension for Aston Villa, but will be available for Sunday’s game.
Casemiro absence is brilliant for Aston Villa
The importance of Casemiro’s absence for the Aston Villa game cannot be underplayed, as the midfielder has developed into a crucial part of Amorim’s system over recent months.
Casemiro has started all but two of Man United’s Premier League games this term, and the Red Devils lost both of those matches.
Taking last season into account as well, Amorim’s side have lost seven of the last eight league games that the Brazilian has not played in.
Aston Villa have the tools to take advantage of a Casemiro-less Man United side, having displayed some ruthless finishing in recent months.
Emery’s side have now won nine games in a row across all competitions, scoring 22 goals in that time.
The Midlands outfit will expect to extend their winning run against Man United to keep the pressure on Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League.
