Aston Villa could call quits on Evann Guessand transfer experiment in January as update drops from AC Milan

Evann Guessand has failed to impress since signing for Aston Villa in the summer.

Guessand joined Villa from OGC Nice and became the only big-money signing at Villa Park in an otherwise frustrating window.

Unai Emery has stood by the Ivory Coast international, but Guessand has continued to frustrate Villa fans with his performances.

There is still hope that Guessand can become a key player for Villa after showing some flashes of the player he could be in claret and blue.

The Villans could soon end their wait for Guessand to come good as the January window looms in the Midlands.

Aston Villa could soon replace Evann Guessand

Guessand had a shocker for Villa against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League, but only featured for four minutes against Bournemouth.

Morgan Rogers, Emi Buendia and John McGinn started against the Cherries, and the change was effective as the Villans went on to score four in B6.

The summer signing from Ligue 1 was afforded a late substitute appearance as he replaced Rogers in the 86th minute.

This could be a sign of things to come for the Ivorian as the winter window approaches and potential activity is planned.

Should Emery and Co. look to bring in another attacking option, it could prove to be a premature end to life at Villa Park for Guessand.

Aston Villa linked with AC Milan star Christian Pulisic

The plan could already be in place to add a forward to the Villa squad in January, particularly one who can also feature as a striker.

That is where Christian Pulisic could come in after a largely positive spell with AC Milan after his failed stint with Chelsea in the Premier League.

Fichajes reported on 18 November that the US international has emerged as a target for the Villans and Manchester United ahead of January.

Villa are said to want a versatile attacking option, and with the ability to play as a striker and a winger in his repertoire, the Milan star would make for a useful signing.

The 27-year-old has contributed to six league goals already this year, despite only starting in four Serie A matches at San Siro.

Pulisic could make for a statement signing in B6, but would likely spell bad news for someone like Guessand moving forward.
