Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Evann Guessand from OGC Nice.
The Ivory Coast has become the Villans’ long-awaited first senior outfield signing of the summer, joining Marco Bizot through the doors in B6.
As a result, anticipation has already grown from supporters around the 24-year-old with just over a week to go until opening day against Newcastle United.
With his signing now confirmed, Guessand can instantly fit into Unai Emery’s lineup, and the Ivorian has since released his first words since joining.

Speaking out to Villa TV after completing a move to B6, Guessand – who could cost Villa up to £46m – has expressed his excitement of playing in front of the supporters.

Given the level of interest in the former Nantes star’s signature this summer, this deal certainly represents a coup for the Villans.
This could prove to be the signing that unlocks a new tactical approach at Villa Park, something which could help a number of players excel in claret and blue.
Alongside Ollie Watkins in the forward line, the Villa Park faithful certainly have something to look forward to ahead of the visit of Newcastle United.
